Surge's TechBox invites you to our Summer Sharing at our studio in central Glasgow.
Come along to a friendly creative atmosphere and experience new innovative projects that integrate technology with performance and audience interaction.
The sharings will include...
Funky Flowers
TechBox will demo their work-in-progress project currently in production for this year’s Surge Festival.
Funky Flowers is a family friendly outdoor experience that involves synchronised movement and audio, to create a quirky and colourful chorus of performing flowers. Members of the public are invited to participate, join in the sing-a-long and see how the flowers react!
This project involves, micro controllers, servos, 3D printing, coding and traditional model-making.
Graeme Leak
Graeme Leak is a Scotland-based musician, composer, director and instrument maker whose career spans contemporary music, large-scale community projects and international touring.
Graeme has premiered more than 100 new works, written over 50 of his own, and created unique instruments and installations – including the much-loved Winton Musical Fence in outback Australia. He devises inventive, hands-on projects that bring people together through sound, from Raising the Roof in Melbourne to LISTEN! at Watford Colosseum. His solo show SAVED, built around 1970s home organs, premiered at the Edinburgh Festival and continues to tour.
Introduction to Vibe Coding
TechBox members have been exploring the potential of Vibe Coding, come along and experience the unexpected results.
Vibe Coding now means that anyone can code - using conversational language we can prompt AI to create complex programmes, software, applications and games - but is this a powerful tool to unleash our creativity or just more AI hype?
TechBox members have been giving this new process a whirl, creating immersive experiences and exploring how it can be integrating into our craft. We will share our new creations and discuss the processes we’ve explored.
