Free showing of Digital Residency at Surge in Glasgow - 4pm on Friday 13th September
Dylan Read is a performer and theatre-maker based in Glasgow, Scotland.
This is his first solo residency at TechBox.
Dylan Read - Spirit Dart
During his SURGE residency, Dylan will be using the TechBox space and mentorship to explore initial stages of a potential new visual theatre project [working title: Spirit Dart]. This work sets-out to explore the human labour, mechanics and (ab)uses of contemporary augmented-reality technologies (particularly VR, remote piloting and motion-capture), as well as some of their physical, moral and psychic consequences. Casting a wide net across this large territory of overlapping themes and dynamics to see what works best dramatically.
As this is the first week of practical R+D for Spirit Dart, the outcome and content of Friday's sharing is currently far from set or certain. Despite being alone for the week at TechBox, Dylan's further intention for the project is to develop a feature-length work with an ensemble of 3 performers.
