Surge are offering a limited number of residences to artists working within physical theatre, outdoor arts, digital performance and circus. These residencies are open to artists at any stage of their career, we welcome applications from emerging to established artists and from solo artists and groups. 

 

We are particularly interested in projects that integrate technology with performance. If your practice requires aerial rigging or has a specific outdoor/ non studio-based element please let us know and we will do what we can to accommodate. 

 

You can apply for 1, 2 or 3 weeks of residency at Surge’s studios in central Glasgow. As part of your residency, you will receive mentorship, space and time to develop your idea. At the end of the residency there will be opportunity to perform a work-in-progress sharing of the work to gain feedback from an invited audience. 

 

There will also be opportunity for mentorship to apply to Creative Scotland to support your residency. Please indicate whether you would like support with this. 

 

Residencies will take place between October 2025 and March 2026.
