Surge Festival 2021 will take place on the 10th and 11th of July!
Surge Festival, is back with a bunch of weird and wonderful acts, on a rolling schedule, so you can see everything over an hour and a half visit. It’s like Supermarket Sweep but in a zoo!
This year at Surge, you can build a nest, watch live digital sculpting and fill marbles with inspiration, while bonkers cabaret acts vie for your attention in a Covid-secure festival space in Barrowland Park, Glasgow.
SURGE is Scotland’s annual festival of street arts, physical theatre and circus. Delivered in partnership with Merchant City Festival, SURGE fills the streets and spaces of Glasgow with exciting new Scottish work and cutting edge international performance, every July. Alongside a packed programme of shows and street encounters, we also run SURGE masterclasses and workshops, for everyone from members of the public to professional performers. Previous SURGE programmes have included work from Cantabile 2, pvi collective, Angela De Castro, and Eric Davis (Red Bastard). As part of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Cultural Programme, SURGE produced Perch, a cross-continental Carnival with spectacular performances on the rooftops of Glasgow and Campinas (Brazil).
