Sand
Sand is a highly visual work-in-progress performance which tells of the very old mythical being the Sandman, blending theatrical styles to bring his world to life though movement, object manipulation and shadow puppetry.

Accounts of this mysterious character are ubiquitous across the globe, yet his form continually shifts – some accounts paint him as a trickster, others a demon, some as a hero and to a few he is a God, the God of Dreams and of Stories.
The Sandman puts people to sleep by sprinkling magic sand in their eyes, invoking beautiful dreams or the darkest of nightmares. The only trace of his visit is residual grit in the eyes upon waking.
Daniel Livingston is a multi-skilled theatre and film maker who has worked across the UK and internationally, in many different roles including director, designer, puppeteer, makeup artist & performer. Former collaborators include Channel 4, National Theatre of Scotland, Citizens Theatre, Vanishing Point, Cirque du Soleil and the BBC.
Originally from Romania and now based in Glasgow, Petre Dobre an actor and director for stage and screen. He graduated with a BA in Performance (BSL/English) in 2018 and uses visual vernacular to create powerful storytelling, combining movement, facial expressions and iconic BSL signs.

Between Earth and Moon
Noah Tomson presents Between Earth and Moon, a new cross-continental performance inspired by the work of Italo Calvino.
The moon is very far away, and so are we…
Ayla and Teo went to the moon together, but Ayla came back alone. When the moon is full, Ayla watches to catch a glimpse of Teo. Captivated and tormented by the sight of her beloved, so far away, out of reach, she must use what means are within her power to grasp the threads of the relationship and bring it back to Earth. Longing turns to frustration and confusion as Ayla tries to connect with Teo. Their relationship comes in and out of focus, sometimes magical, sometimes impossible.
This work is a Scottish-Argentinian collaboration, inspired by Calvino’s surrealist story Distance of the Moon, which is a set in an imaginary past where the moon came close enough to earth each month for people to climb onto it. Between Earth and Moon is a storytelling piece exploring loneliness, nostalgia, connection and human relationships. This intimate piece will be performed simultaneously in Argentina and Scotland and will be live streamed to connect the performers across two continents.
