MATCHMAKER
Wednesday 18th September
11 – 4pm – Surge, Glasgow
An opportunity for artists working across all performing arts disciplines to meet new folks and strike up new connections to gleefully cross pollinate ideas and projects. Matchmaker is a facilitated day of conversations, networking, reaching out, linking up and forming bold new collaborations. The event will be held at Surge’s HQ in Cadogan St, Glasgow City Centre.
Collaborations formed at Matchmaker will be encouraged to apply for a Surge Bursary which will support the development of a new piece of cross discipline work for indoor or outdoor settings in 2020 in partnership with the manipulate Visual Theatre Festival 2020 and Surge Festival 2020.
We welcome performers, makers, directors, circus artists, puppeteers, digital artists, dancers, designers, clowns, choreographers, film makers, visionaries and keen beans.
All we ask is that you come to the day with an idea in mind that you would like to meet other collaborators to develop. This could be an idea for the type of folks you would like to meet, the type of project you would like to be involved in, or perhaps you have a more specific idea for a project or show.
Artists at any stage in their career are welcome to attend. We encourage those who are just starting out to rub shoulders with those who have been around the block.
